At Muizenberg Junior School, we are proud to partner with a variety of private entities to offer a rich selection of extra-mural activities that enhance our students’ educational experience. These programs, led by qualified professionals, include engaging options such as Playball, Ballet,Speech and Drama, Experi-Buddies, Music and Swimming. These extra-murals not only complement our academic curriculum but also provide valuable opportunities for personal growth, creativity, and lifelong learning

Play Ball

The Playball program is designed to introduce children to a range of sports in a fun and engaging way. Through structured games and activities, students develop essential motor skills such as coordination, balance, and agility. Emphasizing teamwork and sportsmanship, this program not only helps children improve their physical abilities but also fosters confidence and social skills as they interact with their peers.

Ballet

Our ballet classes, given by an external teacher, provide students with a strong foundation in the art of classical dance. Participants learn ballet technique, terminology, and choreography in a nurturing environment. As they progress, students cultivate discipline, focus, and creativity while enhancing their physical fitness. The program also promotes an appreciation for the performing arts, allowing students to express themselves through movement and participate in showcases that highlight their achievements.

Experi Buddies

Experi-Buddies is an interactive program that sparks curiosity and a love for science through hands-on experiments and activities. Speech & Drama

The Speech and Drama program is an exciting opportunity for students to develop their communication skills and artistic expression. Through a variety of activities, including acting, storytelling, and improvisation, participants learn to convey emotions and ideas effectively. This program builds confidence and public speaking skills while encouraging creativity and collaboration with peers. Knitting

The Knitting Club welcomes students of all skill levels to explore the art of knitting in a fun and supportive environment. Members can learn a variety of skills, including basic stitches, pattern reading, and advanced techniques like colorwork and cable knitting. We encourage creativity through projects such as scarves, hats, and blankets, allowing everyone to express their unique style.

Music

Our music program offers students a vibrant space to explore various instruments, styles, and musical concepts. Through individual and group lessons, participants develop their skills in rhythm, melody, and harmony while gaining a deeper understanding of music theory. Swimming
